The COVID-19 virus has had an unprecedented global impact on the economy, healthcare industry and lives. While many of us are fortunate to remain healthy and work from home, many others have not been as lucky. It is because of this that Lotame has chosen to support a variety of nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping those affected by COVID-19. As members of local communities around the globe, we hope you’ll join Lotame to support those organizations trying to make a difference during this difficult time.
Our local Lotame teams curated the below list of organizations to which we’ve chosen to donate. This is our small way of helping the communities in which Lotame operates. We applaud these organizations that are trying to make the world a better place day by day.
Black Dog Institute
The Black Dog Institute is dedicated to understanding, preventing and treating mental illness. They’re creating a world where mental illness is treated with the same level of concern, immediacy and seriousness as physical illness; where scientists work to discover the causes of illness and new treatments, and where discoveries are immediately put into practice through health services, technology and community education. Donate to Black Dog Institute.
PM CARES Fund
The ‘Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund’ (PM CARES Fund) in India was set up to help address and support the challenges due to COVID-19. The fund will be used for combating, containment and relief efforts against the coronavirus outbreak and similar pandemic-like situations in the future. The Prime Minister is the Chairman of this trust and its Members include the Defence Minister, Home Minister and Finance Minister. Donate to the PM CARES Fund.
Doctors without Borders
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is the world’s leading independent international medical relief organization, implementing and managing medical projects in close to 72 countries worldwide and as a worldwide movement of 33 offices and associations. Their work focuses on emergency medical and humanitarian relief. For more than 40 years, they have been providing medical assistance to people affected by armed conflicts, natural disasters, disease epidemics, malnutrition crises, and other emergencies.
FareShare is the UK’s largest food redistribution charity, fighting hunger and food waste. The organization redistributes good food that would otherwise go to waste, to frontline charities and community groups that support vulnerable people in over 1,500 towns and cities, providing food for over 36.7 million meals a year and supporting 772,000 people every week. Donate to FareShare.
Food from the Heart
Food from the Heart is a non-profit organisation that feeds the needy through its food distribution programme. It was established in February 2003 after Singapore-based Austrian couple Henry and Christine Laimer read a report in The Sunday Times about bakeries discarding their unsold bread. Stirred, they then decided to channel surplus food from bakeries to those in need. Donate to Food from the Heart.
Maryland – United Way of Central Maryland
United Way of Central Maryland makes our communities stronger. They work with families and individuals to keep them in their homes and out of shelters, with kids who need help in school, and with people who need healthy food and jobs that pay the bills. They’re able to achieve all this with the help of partners: volunteers, donors, other nonprofits and area businesses who share their passion for making lives and neighborhoods stable and healthier. Donate to the United Way of Central Maryland.
New York – The New York Community Trust
The New York Community Trust is a grantmaking foundation dedicated to improving the lives of residents of New York City and its suburbs. They bring together individuals, families, foundations, and businesses to build a better community and support nonprofits that make a difference. The organization applies knowledge, creativity, and resources to the most challenging issues in an effort to ensure meaningful opportunities and a better quality of life for all New Yorkers, today and tomorrow. Donate to The New York Community Trust.
Thank you for your support and contribution to these amazing organizations to help our communities in times of crisis!
Lotame is also participating in the #StayHome movement. Beginning April 8, the advertising, media, and marketing industries united behind a collective purpose and a common call-to-action. Together, we are louder. Together, we have an opportunity to cut through the noise, and to communicate a clear and critical message: #StayHome. Save Lives
In times like these, it’s more important than ever to come together. Lotame is proud to join the #StayHome Movement uniting our entire industry to encourage everyone to stay home if you can to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Together we can save lives. pic.twitter.com/NfMChGWgjl
