This weeks Under the Hood features Amos Odenyo, a member of Lotame’s VERY talented Product team. Amos owns solution work directed towards our Audience Optimizer solution, ensuring that it performs well for our clients on a daily basis. Let’s learn more about Amos!
Tell us about your current position at Lotame. What is your day to day like here?
I’m a member of the Product team, and my primary focus is Audience Optimizer. My typical day involves monitoring Audience Optimizer models for our clients to ensure they working as expected, working with our Engineering and Data Science teams on issues and future updates, and working with our Sales and Support teams to help train clients and find opportunities where Audience Optimizer can be utilized successfully.
Where were you prior to Lotame?
I was a Product Manager at Constellation Homebuilder Systems, who offer software solutions for residential homebuilders.
You focus on our Audience Optimizer Solution. Tell us what that focus is and how you make sure that the solution consistently improves.
My primary goals are to improve Audience Optimizer’s stability and efficiency while growing its use among our customers. In other words, have Optimizer cost us less money, while making us more money! A secondary goal is to ensure Optimizer evolves to continue to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients and the market in general. Fortunately, we have the best Data Scientists and Engineers in the business, so we are able translate ideas into product improvements.
Where do you see the marketing technology industry heading in the next 5 years?
5 years is long time in this industry. Personally I hope Facebook will no longer be around, hopefully not replaced by something worse. I see a trend towards giving people more control over the data they generate online, both directly via browsers and apps, and indirectly via connected devices. I believe the industry will adapt to this trend positively, using the richer data to deploy more targeted and personalized marketing efforts.
While we know that our Audience Optimizer solution is your baby, what other solution would you say that you like most and why?
I love the Audience Profile Report! At first glance it communicates a lot of information in a format that’s easy to understand. Digging into the different settings and options, especially for behaviors and affinities, allows detailed analysis of an audience. Its a really powerful tool.
Can you describe the environment here at Lotame?
Lotame has a very unique and special culture. Everyone is friendly and willing to help. You can see that people are working hard to do their part towards the company’s success. Lotamites have the freedom and empowerment to perform and succeed, while maintaining a good work-life balance.
What is one piece of advice you would give someone new to this industry?
Take your time, there is so much to learn. Ask questions if you don’t understand something, there are no stupid questions.

I’m an avid Formula 1 fan. I meet a group of friends to watch races, which are frequently in the wee hours of Sunday morning. We also try to attend at least one race every year.
